Welcome to the Global Winter School 2024! We are delighted to present an extraordinary opportunity for curious minds from across the globe to engage in a transformative learning experience that delves deep into the intricate interplay of society.

The success of the last edition of the Global Winter School on Socio-technical-cultural Aspects of the World serves as a testament to the program’s excellence and impact. Participants from over 20 countries joined us in the previous edition, and the feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive. Delegates of the program have gone on to make significant contributions in various fields, ranging from academia and research to industry and policymaking. Many have successfully implemented socio-technical initiatives that have had far-reaching effects on their communities and organizations. The achievements of our alumni stand as a shining example of the program’s ability to empower individuals with the knowledge, skills, and vision to navigate the complex challenges of our interconnected world. We look forward to building upon this legacy of success and taking the upcoming Global Winter School to even greater heights.

Our carefully curated curriculum brings together experts, thought leaders, and enthusiastic participants to collectively explore the challenges and opportunities arising from the fusion of social and technological forces. Whether you’re a student, researcher, professional, or simply a passionate learner, our program is designed to cater to all levels of expertise and interests.

The Global Winter School features multiple specialized tracks that cover a broad spectrum of topics, including but not limited to below themes:

THEME 1

Social Change Through Education

Site of visit: Government and private schools in rural and urban areas (for a comparative study.)


THEME 2

Social Stratification Decodified.

Site of visit: Village tours of Gujjar community (nomads), Dewasi, Bhil, and other subcaste and tribal groups, Astrology museum, and a sample of ancient Brahmin house.


THEME 3

Women In Action

Site of visit: Shelter homes for women, women police station, some artisan (cloth making, bangle making etc) units headed by local women.

Alternative: Self-help group of women for a group interaction on women’s roles and issues.


THEME 4

Unearthing Culture

Site of visit: Witnessing an archaeological site 50kms from Pali,( unexcavated underground city, dating back to 11th century), the Somnath Temple (constructed in the year 1152), Pali State museum.

THEME 5

Governance At Grassroots

Site of visit: Municipal corporation, Gram Panchayat(Village Council), attend a Gram Sabha (a village meeting), interaction with Sarpanch (Head of the village)

Program

Credits:

Students can earn up to 10 credit points by delegating in the program (depending on the university) and a certificate of the delegate.

Duration:

The Global Winter School 2024 will take place from 3rd – 12th January 2024 in the Pali district of Rajasthan. In close proximity to the district lie, the ancient cities of Jodhpur and Udaipur.

We are excited to announce that the application for the Global Winter School 2024 on Socio-technical Aspects of the World is now open.

Deadline for Registration : 30th September 2023

As we put the finishing touches on the program, we can assure you that it will be an enriching and transformative experience.


INCLUDED IN PROGRAM

Food, accommodation, travel during working days (preparation period and field research) and a weekend trip will be taken care of by the program.
* As an NGO, all the fees collected will be used on the delegates to ensure all the safety precautions and government advisories.


TO BE BORNE BY DELEGATES.

Flight expenses, visa, insurance, and any personal or travel expense made outside of the training and field research period will have to be taken care of by the delegates.

 SCHOLARSHIP

Selected students can apply for the scholarship, which will be decided by the panel based on the merit list and availability of funds, and the Economic condition of the delegate.
Please note: Sufficient proof will be required to verify the authenticity of the applicant’s economic conditions.

Requirements


Open to anyone above the age of 18.

A filled application form with a minimum of 200 words ‘Statement of Purpose.


Selection Process

STEP 1 :

Selection based on Complete Application & SOP.

STEP 2 :

Interview through telephone | Skype.
